02.10.10 : Place in the quarter finals easily assured

Weekend 5 of the season brought the first "double header" weekend. Round one of the cup on Saturday in Lugano followed by Rotweiss in Wettingen on Sunday. The team were all present and raring to go at 6.50 on Saturday morning for the first leg of the marathon weekend. After 6 scenic hours on the train we arrived to hazy sunshine in Lugano with everybody eager to get the defense of the Swiss cup under way.

02.10.10 : « The sun is shining, the weather is sweet »

To Quote Bob Marley and The Wailers, “The sun is shining, the weather is sweet”, and so it was for SHC’s match against local rivals Black Boys. There were a lot of nerves prior to the game, and these carried into the first ten minutes of the match. Black Boys dominated in terms of possession and their passing was far superior. The breakthrough for Black came after an initial save from a Penalty Corner was not cleared and Fiona Rickli calmly slotted home the rebound. 1-0.

26.09.10 : Servette HC – Stade Lausanne

In the 3rd game of the season, Servette entertained Stade Lausanne in Geneva. The match started with Servette dominant in possession, keeping the ball well and frustrating the Lausanne team. This possession allowed for some good attacking chances, but there was no end result for the Servette team.
The breakthrough finally came after 20 minutes when Gareth Mckeown after some good build up play, calmly lifted the ball over the keeper to give Servette the lead. That is Gareth’s 6th goal of the season.
The rest of the half was a continuation of the normal. Servette keeping the ball and not many chances at either goal.

18.09.10 : Servette HC – Luzerner SC

Après une entame de championnat qu’on ne saurait qualifier de brillante (victoire 6-5 face au promu HC Wettingen après avoir mené 3-0), la Première équipe se devait de réagir face à un adversaire d’un tout autre calibre, en l’occurrence nos « bourreaux » en demi-finale du dernier championnat, Luzerner SC.
Nous devons pour ce match nous passer des services de Patrick qui purge son second match de suspension, et de notre capitaine Laurent, et c’est donc avec plaisir que nous enregistrons le renfort bienvenu de Dave pour stabiliser notre défense qui a connu plusieurs errements lors du premier match.
Organisé en un 4-5-1 résolument compact, le Servette se doit de hausser son niveau de jeu, en retrouvant une rigueur défensive tout en gardant l’efficacité offensive de la semaine précédente.

12.09.10 : Un début spectaculaire

Après une préparation un peu chaotique, la première du Servette HC débutait (enfin…) le championnat 2010/2011 en affrontant le néo-promu HC Wettingen.
Le seul match de préparation ne s’étant pas vraiment déroulé à merveille et la préparation n’ayant pas été fantastique, nous étions conscient que ce match ne serait pas facile et qu’il nous fallait jouer au mieux de nos possibilités.
